        Windows XP hard disk issues

Windows XP is one of the most admired operating systems designed by Microsoft. Launched as a successor to Windows 2000, Windows XP ruled the operating systems market for more than a decade, even after the release of other Windows platforms. It offers a user-friendly interface and simple tools to perform routine jobs, with optimum support for a wide range of utility applications. However, Windows XP operating system is not fully devoid of problems, and users come across numerous issues in the platform from time to time.

The most undemanding method to fix a malfunctioning computer is by reformatting the system. Yet again, simply formatting the hard disk will erase all the data in it, and missing system files eventually restrict the computer to function properly. Thus, before formatting the system, it is essential to backup the important data in it, and then reinstall Windows XP using the system image provided by the manufacturer.

Usually, the Windows installer image is located in a hidden partition on the system hard disk. When you locate the system image, save it to an external media and then delete the unwanted partition to start with the formatting process. You can also opt to keep the partition as it is; but Windows XP help team suggests deleting unused partitions from the system drive, as it will increase the amount of unoccupied disk space. Follow the below given steps for the task.
