Windows 7 operating system is Microsoft’s stable and successful operating system to the Windows family. It contains features like User Account Control (UAC) and Windows Firewall to ensure the safety and security of the computer from unauthorized users or changes. UAC technology is a security infrastructure introduced in Vista and carried on to Windows 7 that aims at improving the operating system’s security by limiting the application privileges to Administrator account. Windows Firewall is another software component providing packet filtering and firewalling functionalities to protect the computer from malicious software and hackers.

Sometimes these programs may make conflicts with certain software or prevent access to certain internet sites. These might block some programs or ask authorization each time you change the computer software or settings. Though UAC and Windows Firewall both keep the computer safe and protected these can also become nuisances.   • To make these changes, you will need the administrator permission. So Log on to the laptop as an administrator. Click “Start,” from the bottom left corner of your computer screen, and then choose “Control Panel.” Go to “System and Security,” and select “Change User Account Control Settings” from beneath “Action Center.”
  • Click “Continue,” or into the prompt, input the administrator password and then press “Enter.” to disable User Account Control completely, Drag the slider down to “Never Notify“.

  • To unblock your laptop, click “OK“. Click “Windows Firewall,” then from the left pane, select “Turn Windows Firewall On or Off“.
  • From “Home or Work (Private) Network Location Settings,” “Public Network Location Settings” or both, Click “Turn Off Windows Firewall“. To unblock the network, click “OK“.
